Spring is officially on the horizon, and you know what that means—longer days, more sunshine and that undeniable urge to purge every unnecessary item from your closet. (Do I need 17 black leggings? Yes. But also, no.)
But while we’re busy Marie Kondo-ing our homes, we often forget that our bodies and minds need a seasonal reset, too!
See, as the seasons shift, so do our energy levels, hormones and overall vibe. We’re coming out of winter mode (aka: hibernation, comfort foods and minimal movement) and stepping into a season that naturally calls for more light, more movement and a fresh start.
So, how do you sync your health with the season and actually feel alive again?
Here’s your Spring Reset Checklist:
🌞 Let the Light In → More natural sunlight = a happier circadian rhythm = better energy & metabolism. Aim for 10 minutes (minimum) of morning sun ASAP after waking!
🥦 Lighten Up Your Meals → Your body is naturally shifting from craving heavy, grounding foods to lighter, fresher seasonal foods. Think: leafy greens, sprouts, citrus, fresh herbs and root veggies to support digestion and energy.
🚶♀️ Move with the Season → This doesn’t mean running a half marathon (unless that’s your thing? Go off, queen). Just take advantage of the longer days—walk after dinner, stretch in the sun, try outdoor yoga or a local dance class. Movement should feel refreshing, not forced.
🧘♀️ Declutter Your Mind, Too → If winter felt heavy or overwhelming, spring is your sign to reset. Journal, set an intention or (my favorite) do a 5-minute brain dump—write down every. single. thing. that’s taking up mental space and prime real estate, then prioritize, what's short term and long term, or needs to be delegated OR let it go.
💧 Support Your Drainage Pathways → Just like you wouldn’t clean your house with the doors and windows shut (seriously, begin opening your windows on the nice days and when you clean), your body needs to eliminate waste efficiently. This means: hydration, sweating*, regular bowel movements* and gentle liver support (I love castor oil packs, ask me).
Spring isn’t about doing a massive overhaul—it’s about gently aligning your habits with what your mind and body actually wants this time of year.
